Tony established Branton Capital in 2011. He is the former Chairman of SVG Investment Managers (SVGIM) and was formerly CEO of SVG Advisers (previously Schroder Ventures (London) Limited), the global private equity funds business and manager of $5bn AUM, where he was a board member of the Schroder Private Equity Funds program. He established the public equities business for Schroder Ventures (London) Limited which included fund management and investment strategy alongside operational responsibilities. Tony was chairman of the Investment Committee for SVGIM which established multiple investment vehicles including the award winning investment trust “Strategic Equity Capital plc”. The business as a whole was successfully grown before being fully sold to the parent company (SVG Capital plc) upon Tony’s departure in 2011.

 

Prior to this he was a Director at UBS Global Asset Management (formerly Phillips & Drew Fund Management, PDFM). Whilst at UBS, Tony was a member of the UK Equity Investment Committee and responsible for managing over £1.5 billion of UK equities. He has an honours degree in Economics & Accounting from Bristol University and a degree in Management Studies from Cambridge University (Judge Institute) and is a member of the CFA Institute. He was a junior rugby international whilst playing for Saracens, and gained a Cambridge University Blue.He currently sits on the Board (and Investment Committee) of the £5bn London Pension Fund Authority, is chair of Downing Active Management public equity Investment Committee, a Board member of Reds Investments (Renewable Energy Investments), and Investment Committee member for St Edmunds College, Cambridge University Endowment Fund.
